The International Day for Sharing Life Stories will happen for the first time on May 16th 2008. The day will be an opportunity for people around the world to gather in community halls, classrooms, public parks, theaters, auditoriums, as well websites, email exchanges, and virtual environments to hear each other’s stories.
In order to make this a big celebration, we encourage your organization to host an event or activity during the day or over the weekend (17th and 18th May), such as story circles in public environments; performances of storytelling; celebratory events to honor local storytellers; print, radio and television broadcast programming on life stories.
Your personal and/or organizational support is very important in order to strengthen our efforts in promoting the International Day for Sharing Life Stories.
