Terms of Service and Parental Consent FormsOur Stories is devoted to helping people share the stories of their lives with others. We also respect and strive to protect the privacy and rights of all contributors. The following outlines our requirements for those uploading and accessing the audio content available on Our Stories: Students using One Laptop per Child Computers: Our Stories website does not collect or store any personal information associated with children. In order to protect children’s privacy, those under 13 years of age are also not permitted to upload content directly to the Our Stories website via YouTube. Before content produced by students using One Laptop per Child computers can be added to the online Our Stories collection, we require parents of all students under the age of 18 to sign the release form below and return it to the local teacher in charge of the Our Stories / One Laptop per Child program. Teachers will work with parents to ensure that the release forms are signed and submitted to Our Stories before audio content created by students is added to the site. Teachers and others uploading content to Our Stories: For now, Our Stories only accepts content uploaded from partners and providers with whom we are working directly. These organizations include One Laptop per Child, UNICEF and Museum of the Person in Brazil. Our Stories uses YouTube technology to stream the audio files provided by students and others. Therefore, One Laptop per Child teachers and others uploading audio content to Our Stories must first create a YouTube account, and then agree to the online Terms of Service at YouTube. YouTube also has a privacy policy for uploaders which we ask all contributors to review. Our Stories will work with our partners and other content providers to assist them in adding their stories to our site.
